Fireplaces Store

Has anyone used or heard of a fireplace in my home called a Soapstone Fireplace???How efficient are they ?

If you mean a fireplace, they are not very efficient. If you mean a properly vented woodstove; they are wonderful. They hold the heat and heat very well on less fuel. As with any woodstove you have to use fans to move the heat around some, and you will be warmest in the room with the stove.
  • they are extremely effecient. The stone holds the heat longer and radiates it a lot better. by Haven17

  • You will be sorry if you buy one. It will only keep the room its in warm. The rest of your house will be cold. They are overpriced and I wouldnt pay 5 dollars for one. by atomictomatoman

  • Any fireplace will be sending air out the chimney and that air has to come in from somewhere. Even though you will feel warm by the fire, other rooms will get cooler. When there is no fire, there will still be a draft coming in through the chimney. They sure look pretty though, don't they? by Neebler
