What is the minimum clearance allowed bewtween a free standing gas stove/fireplace and a wooden lintel?
Is your stove vented or non-vented? With a vented stove, freestanding you will have to put some type of fire resistant material on the wall and floor if it is wood, carpet, tile, etc. The clearance is as little as 2 inches. If stove is unvented and you wish to put into a mantel or other wooden enclose the new stoves are usually zero clearance meaning you can put the box right up to the wood. Call the 1-800-numbmer on the box and ask them to make sure. All stoves have excellent customer service people. Good luck.Check with the manufacture. It may be as little as 3/4". by cobblejoe
Well I honestly think that you should refer that question to the fireplace manufacturer for correct guidance as every case will be different. I have a gas log fire ( enclosed ) with a canopy and the clearance between the top of my canopy and the wooden mantelpiece is 115mm ( four and a half inches ) and that was within the manufacturers recommendation. However, your situation may be entirely different. by MICHAEL P
