Sinatra “Cucina” Soapstone Stove
Unlike standard wood burning stoves, a soapstone heater uses the soapstone mass to store the heat, and slowly radiates it over a period of time. The heat released by the soapstone, is similar to the heat from the sun when you sit in a sunroom.
The soapstone heater is a contraflow heater, which is designed with inner channels that guide the burnt gases , circulating it up and down the inner channels and by doing this, all stones absorb that energy/heat, before releasing out the chimney. In standard wood stoves, all that energy goes straight up the chimney, and for the most part wasted.
